The cargo ship at the docks in Warzone's Caldera map. I wanted to differentiate the three areas of the ship - the cargo area was primarily lit by sun, the bridge was bright and airy, and the lower level had more marine-toned, unsettling lighting.
I was responsible for lighting, reflection probe setup, tuning atmospheric and exposure settings, and conveying the mood/story of the level. Due to the nature of Warzone's competitive multiplayer mode, visibility for the player was also of paramount importance. I communicated with concept, design, and environment teams to ensure the gameplay and narrative were being supported by lighting. I coordinated with the FX team to make sure exposure settings and atmospherics were supporting effects, and worked with tech art to help optimize the level while still reaching our visual target.
